Organist: Ed Taylor

Edward Taylor leads a busy freelance career as a recitalist in the UK and Europe having played at venues across the UK, in Holland and France. He is no stranger to "Battle of the Organs" having played concerts with Simon Lindley, David Houlder and Ian Tracey.

Edward is Assistant Organist and Director of the Youth Choir at Carlisle Cathedral. He has held this this post since September 2008, having previously held Organ Scholarships at Ely Cathedral, Leeds Parish Church, Wakefield and Portsmouth Cathedrals.

In Carlisle Edward directs the Cathedral's Youth Choir who sing weekly services and give regular concerts in Cumbria. He has organised and lead them on two successful tours to Brittany, France in 2009 and Mallorca, Spain in 2013. Edward has directed the choir on the BBC's Songs of Praise and Radio 4's Morning Worship. Edward leads the Cathedral's Sing Out Project across schools in Cumbria bringing the opportunity for musical development to primary aged children. In 2009, Edward co-founded the Cathedral's Cantate Children's Choir providing musical training for children of all abilities within the community.
